US: Xanté Co/Peter F Heering switches distributor on

Sweden-based The Xanté Company/Peter F Heering has appointed Gemini Spirits & Wine as its new US importer.

Chicago-based Gemini will handle pear-flavoured Cognac liqueur Xanté and cherry liqueur Heering from 1 November, replacing previous distributor Kindred Spirits.

Xanté Company/Peter F Heering’s customer services manager, Anna-Karin Olofsson, said the distributor switch is necessary because of the Swedish company’s US expansion plans. “To take the brands to the next level we felt it was necessary to have a stronger sales force with more people on the street,” she said.

The brand portfolio of Gemini, a subsidiary of the Sazerac Company, also includes Cachaça 51, Kilbeggan Irish whiskey and Glenfarclas single malt Scotch whisky.

September 6, 2011 (Chicago, IL) – Ken Kwarta, General Manager of Gemini Spirits & Wine, announced that effective November 1st the company will become the exclusive U.S. importer for the Heering and Xanté premium brands.

“Heering and Xanté are truly exceptional products with exciting potential within the U.S. marketplace, particularly within the mixology and luxury spirit worlds,” noted Kwarta.  “We are thrilled to welcome these premium brands to our portfolio of award-winning spirits.”

Cherry Heering has been produced since 1818 and holds its place in the industry as an iconic cocktail accessory and the original cherry brandy.  It is an essential ingredient in the world-famous Singapore Sling as well as the Blood & Sand cocktail, with growing popularity amongst mixologists around the world. Currently available in more than 100 countries worldwide, Cherry Heering adds just the right bit of extravagance to the cocktail universe.  The recent introduction of Heering Coffee Liqueur builds on tradition by offering a rare blend of Caribbean Rum, dark coffee and rich cocoa.  These all-natural products provide a taste experience rivaled by few products in the market today.

Xanté is a cognac-based pear spirit that has been distributed in Europe for more than a decade and just recently took the US by storm. The story of Xanté starts in Belgium, over 100 years ago, when liqueur manufacturer Jean Heinrich was confided with a collection of ancient, all natural liqueur recipes, by a Benedictine monk. Xanté is conceived with four year old cognacs matured in French Limousine Oak barrels which draw out the rich amber color and fragrant notes of spicy vanilla and pear.  Today, Xanté can be found in over 20 markets enjoyed neat, chilled or in a cocktail.

Adele Robberstad, CEO of the Xanté and Peter F. Heering companies, commented, “We look forward to expanding our US presence with the new Gemini partnership and taking our brands to the next level.  Our organizations share an extraordinary passion for building great spirit brands- there could not be a better fit for Heering and Xanté.”

Heering US finalists now decided upon

We can now announce the winners that will represent US in the finals of Heering Accessorize 2009.

The world renowned fashion focused jury led by US cutting edge and celebrity designer Charlotte Ronson of Seventh House Studios in New York City faced a difficult and long selection process. The end result yielded an up and coming and well deserving winner – Cherry Heering extends spirited congratulations to Geuri de la Rosa from New York City, whose beautiful “Vintage” inspired cocktail dress design secured his place alongside a roster of equally inspired fashion designers from 15 other countries in Singapore this June at the Global Finals.

Geuri, an Associate Designer from the Hampshire Group in New York City, designed an asymmetric short fitted cocktail dress in silk satin and ruched silk chiffon drapes all throughout with chiffon creating bow at shoulder – the design originated from his first glance at the “Vintage” Cherry Heering cocktail, which he noted shifts from its bright cannery yellow and into deep cherry, which he deemed perfect to convey into a cocktail dress. The dress design itself effortlessly shifts from color to color creating the same effortlessly chic look of the drink.

The world renowned mixology focused jury led by the “Modern Mixologist” Tony Abou Ganim, faced a difficult and long selection process. The end result yielded a well deserving winner – Cherry Heering extends spirited congratulations to Jacqueline Patterson from San Francisco, whose beautiful “Romantic” inspired cocktail secured her place alongside a roster of equally inspired mixologist from 15 other countries in Singapore this June at the Global Finals.

Jacqueline, from Heaven’s Dog in the cocktail-centric San Francisco Bay Area, created a perfectly balanced cocktail featuring Irish whiskey, Egg Whites, Orgeat syrup, fresh lemon juice and the essential Cherry Heering, assuring that the original Cherry Brandy rose to the top of this is truly inspired cocktail.

We wish both Gueri and Jacqueline the best of luck during the finals in Singapore, the Raffles Hotel, June 4th 2009!
