One of the last known remaining vintage bottles of CHERRY HEERING® liqueur from 1890 was donated at the 2011 Tales of the Cocktail from Adele Robberstad, CEO of the Xanté Company & Peter F. Heering to bar icon Dale DeGroff, President of The Museum of The American Cocktail for permanent display (www.museumoftheamericancocktail.org) .CHERRY HEERING® liqueur, the original cherry brandy, can lay claim to truly being one of the all-time classic and quality tasting brands – and has now come home to where the brand was awarded its most prestigious medal, taking the gold medal at The World Fair 1884 in New Orleans as the best liqueur.

CHERRY HEERING® liqueur, purveyor to H.M. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, H.M. Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, has been produced since 1818 and is the original Cherry Brandy. The Heering success comes from a willingness to be a fashion accessory that adds lavishness, extravagance and civilization to the mix.

Coming Full Circle

The historic journey began with Peter F. Heering as early as 1820 as he tried to register the Cherry Brandy as a trademark. CHERRY HEERING® liqueur was shipped from Copenhagen to New York City with the first shipment arriving in 1837.

The vintage bottle featured historic seals noting CHERRY HEERING® liqueur as the Puveyour to the Russian Tsar n the late 1800’s, Prince of Wales and Danish Royal family. A lineage few brands can attest.

The vintage CHERRY HEERING® liqueur bottle has been the focal point for raising money to support up and coming designers and mixologists throughout the world, starting at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore at the Heering World Championship in June 2009. The bottle was featured in the Raffles Hotel museum, where the Singapore Sling was created in 1915 featuring CHERRY HEERING® liqueur as the main ingredient

The first vintage bottle opening of 1890 in over a hundred plus years of CHERRY HEERING® liqueur was opened and tasted at the famed New York haunt, The Campbell Apartment in 2010, by Jörgen Tilander, owner of the CHERRY HEERING® liqueur brand along with Xanté, one of the top selling liqueurs in Scandinavia now available in the US; along with Jackson Cannon, famed Boston bar man from Eastern Standard where his cocktails, passion and knowledge are truly second to none in New England and beyond; Akiko Katayama, an established international writer and former Iron Chef judge and Tony Abu Ganim, The Modern Mixologist and MC/Host of the CHERRY HEERING® liqueur vintage event.

Previous vintage CHERRY HEERING® liqueur bottles were auctioned off through Sotherby in New York City with proceeds benefitting DIFFA, Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.
