Precision and craft at the Pegu Club
Pegu club on Houston street on a Sunday night. If you’re an anti-clubbing misanthrope who wants only the most excellent of drinks, the perfect time and place. Three things I loved:
Remember the Maine: a manhattan variation with a soupçon of Pernod and cherry heering. Perfectly licorice-y
Improved Norwegian Cock-tail: first experience with aquavit in a cocktail, also with maraschino, star anise, and orange. Dry and spice-ish (not spicy, really), but not too much so.
These cocktail saucers. The perfect antidote for glassware destined to hold a 9-oz cosmopolitan. I have to have these.
