Cheery Heering written about in Danish newspaper ”Borsen”

On the 14th of November, a piece was written on Heering Cherry Liqueur in the Danish newspaper “Borsen”. Cherry Heering is in the article named a great part of history of Danish culture. It also mentions that it is a shame that this Danish brand has been somewhat “neglected” over the years and that it is with great enthusiasm that Heering now seem to be back with new force.

Heering was this year once again present at the Goda Köket fair in Stockholm. The fair was open between the 6th and the 9th of November and it had about 25 000 visitors. Heering Cherry featured as an election night cocktail

We found the following suggestion for a new Heering Cherry Liqueur cocktail on the blog TheLiquidMuse.com (founded by Natalie Bovis-Nelsen):

What To Drink on Election Night…

In case you were wondering how to celebrate on Election Day, you can check out ExtraTV.com’s Luxaholics for 4 cocktails from La-La-Land.

Extra asked yours truly to create two Election Cocktails – one for each camp (featured below). I started with the classic Aviation as inspiration as my hope is that our new leader will help us soar into smoother sailing with regard to both the economy and our global relationships. I added a splash of champange to both of my drinks because, frankly, as far as I’m concerned, there is no celebration without a little bubbly.

The election cocktail feature also presents 2 drinks from my fellow cocktail-lover, Marcos Tello, who is the resident mixologist at downtown’s swanky speakeasy-style joint, The Edison. Luxaholics even suggests some liquorless celebrating by plugging “Preggatinis: Mixology for the Mom-To-Be,” due in December. (Thank you, Luxaholics!)

Either way the election goes, you will have something to tickle your tastebuds… not to mention, we are all campaigning to bring Los Angeles Mixology into the libational spotlight, one fine drink at a time.

The Aviator of Hope (Obama)

splash of champagne

Muddle 4 blueberries in the bottom of a mixing glass. Add maraschino liqueur, gin and juices. Shake well, with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass and top with a splash of champagne.

The Red Baron (McCain)

3/4 ounce Cherry Heering liqueur
3/4 ounce orange juice
1/2 ounce lime juice
1/2 ounce agave nectar
splash of champagne

Pour tequila, Cherry Heering, juices and agave nectar into a mixing glass. Shake well, with ice. Strain into a martini glass and top with a splash of champagne.

Excerpt from the blog Spirit Me Away

The following could be read on the blog Spirit Me Away where author Meaghan Dorman has been experimenting with farmers market apple cider (and rinsed the glass with Heering Cherry Liqueur for the right touch!).

Autumn Gingerbread Flip

I finished up my recipe for the Hiram Walker Gingerbread Recipe blogger contest right in the nick of time. One of my favorite things about fall is farmers market apple cider, so I knew that would make into my recipe. Check out the final recipe:

1.5 oz farmer’s market apple cider
1.5 oz Sazerac Rye Whiskey
.5 oz Hiram Walker Gingerbread Liqueur
.5 oz egg white

Rinse a cocktail glass with Cherry Heering liqueur. Pour all ingredients
into a mixing glass and dry shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Add ice
and shake again. Strain into rinsed cocktail glass. Garnish with a flamed
orange zest.

Enjoy!
